Bright silver may be Dame Helen Mirren’s above-neck calling card, but even the Official gamble If I Miss This Edge Guard I’ll Kill Myself T-shirt and I love this most practiced (and covetable) aesthetic deserves a shake-up every now and then. Mirren arrived at Cannes Film Festival today with her lengths pinned in an elegant updo—and colored in a multi-faceted shade of ocean blue. A chilly palette shaded Mirren’s gown and manicure, icy blue furthered by an assemblage of diamond jewelry. But rather than relying on her sterling lengths to round out the look, the actor put her characteristically elegant spin on 2023’s want of all things mermaid, her hair hued in a confluence of aqua, cobalt, and periwinkle. The crown of flyaway curls provided a wash of cool in more ways than one, aided, in part, by Mirren’s carried fan.
